Visit the White Villages


Visit the White Villages will not let you indifferent. At every step we discover something new, amongst spectacular scenery, streets of Arab tradition, extraordinary colorful courtyards and white ecological of their houses.

The visit takes about 4.30 hours.

You can visit the most representative towns such as:

  • Setenil de las bodegas: their homes, under a rock, and others on it or inside, printed different heights to streets, configured as special places like the streets of the Shadow Caves and Caves of the Sun. It is crossed by the river Guadalporcún forming an impressive gorge passing through the village.
  • Grazalema: town of Arab origin and center of the Sierra de Grazalema Natural Park which enjoys a special microclimate. Include the Church of Our Lady of the Aurora and the Museum of Textile Arts.
  • Zahara de la Sierra, white town called "The Balcony of the White Villages" well known for its famous Corpus Christi Festival of National Tourist Interest. This town has a street with an extraordinary dream castle and wonderful views. Include the Church of St. María de la Mesa, the Chapel of St. Juan de Letrán, the Clock Tower and the Bridge of the Palominos.
  • Olvera: Arab roots people whose municipal Greenway runs the Sierra, the only route declared of tourist interest in Andalucía. In this town include the Church of Our Lady of the Encarnación, the castle (s Muslim fortress. XII) and the building of the House of Cilla where is the "Olvera. La Frontera y los Castillos" museum. We can also highlight the natural reserve of the Peñón de Zaframagón characterized as the largest nesting vultures in Andalusia and one of the largest in Europe.
